My Journey as a Data Services Intern at CROWE
As a student pursuing a degree in data analytics, I always knew that an internship at a reputed organization would provide me with valuable insights and experience in the field. This is precisely what happened when I secured an internship at CROWE, a leading consulting firm. For the past ten months, I have worked as a data services intern, and the experience has been nothing short of phenomenal.
My role as a data services intern involved working with various technologies, including Power BI, ADF, SQL, and Databricks. These technologies are used extensively in the field of data analytics, and the opportunity to work with them has been a fantastic learning experience. Throughout my internship, I have had the opportunity to work on several projects, each of which has contributed significantly to my professional development.
One of the most significant projects I worked on involved data warehousing. As part of this project, I used Azure Data Factory (ADF) to extract data from multiple sources, transform the data to meet the required standards, and load it into a data warehouse. This project was challenging, as I had to work with large volumes of data and ensure that the data was accurate and consistent. However, it was incredibly rewarding to see the final result and the impact it had on the organization.
Another project that I worked on involved data integration. The organization I was working with had data spread across multiple systems, and it was challenging to bring it all together to derive insights. I worked with my mentor to develop a strategy for data integration and used SQL to bring all the data into a single repository. This project helped me develop my skills in data integration and exposed me to the importance of data quality.
During my internship, I also had the opportunity to work with Power BI to create insightful dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Power BI is an incredibly powerful tool that allows users to visualize data and gain insights into business performance. Working with Power BI has helped me develop my skills in data visualization and analysis and has given me a better understanding of how data is used to solve real-world problems.
Databricks is another tool that I worked with extensively during my internship. Databricks is a cloud-based data processing and analytics platform that has given me hands-on experience with big data processing and machine learning. I worked on a project that involved developing a predictive model for sales forecasting, and Databricks played a significant role in this project. Working with Databricks has given me a much deeper understanding of machine learning and the role it plays in data analytics.
